Failure to Launch (Tagged Post!

Hello, everyone. Today, as you might be able to guess from the neato way I name these, this is a tagged post I was nominated for by Yomu! Thank you so much for that. I’m honored I was picked.

I’m always happy to participate in these little fun community events, even if it takes me a bit to get to them. So if anyone ever wants to tag me, feel free. It makes my day.

I won’t waste too much time explaining things. That’s why you go see the original post (also by Yomu,) but I’ll give you the rundown, so you at least have some idea what Failure to Launch is.

Rules:

  1. Put the logo and rules in your post.
  2. Thank whoever tagged you and link back to their post.
  3. Link back to the original post.
  4. List some brief excerpts where stories (anime, book, movie – anything is fine) failed to launch due to a missing call to action. As many as you want. Readers can then try and guess the story in the comments!
  5. Nominate 3 other blogs to continue the tag!

As Yomu (thankfully) says, the rules are optional. This is for fun, after all. We can’t tell you what to do. Do link back to the original post, though. Not doing that isn’t very cool.

So how Failure to Launch works is pretty simple. You write down little paragraphs for your favorite anime, book, game, whatever you want, where some key event in the story never happened. How would that change the story?

For instance, say Protag-kun was supposed to take a left to get to school one day, where he would then run into Protag-chan, and that meeting would change their lives. Neat right? Well, what if Protag-kun went right that day? Yeah, it’s basically that. Really fun idea, I must say. Well, here are some much more stupid ideas for you.

Oh, and you’re supposed to try and guess what stories these were originally. For the sake of staying on brand, these will all be anime stuff. Some are easy, and some are harder. One’s a joke!

Story #1

Girl with god-like powers lives a boring life until she unknowingly destroys the world and all who inhabit it.

Story #2

Boy stands too close to a space quake and dies without ever knowing the cause or why it happened on the surface of Earth.

Story #3

Shy boy gets bullied by a girl once, but she’s respectful and backs off at his request, and the two never see each other again.

Story #4

Boy proposes a polyamorous relationship with multiple girls and (rightfully) gets left alone.

Story #5

A cool VRMMO comes out and takes the world by storm. Nothing wrong here. It’s just a damn good time. (I hope this is our reality soon!)

Story #6

Girl who really wants to be an idol leaves her house, crosses a street, and follows her dreams!

Story #7

City boy moves to a quiet rural town where he makes some friends and learns to appreciate the slow life where nothing bad ever happens. (That’s still technically an anime, even if it didn’t start as one)

And that’s that. Tell me how you did in the comments below! And make sure to subscribe and hit that bell…oh, wait. Sorry, when I hear comments, my inner YouTube guy growing inside me comes out.

I’ll also nominate a few. Again, you all can ignore this, but this is part of the fun. Nobody should feel pressured to do it either. I’ll be mad if you feel pressured, so don’t. You don’t want to…read me when I’m mad. Empty threats aside, here you go.

Emiko – Ramblings N’ Scribbles

Kennedy – Undercover Otaku

Roki – Solitary Cubbyhole

And that’s about it. Cool. Buh-bye. Bye yall.

Thank you very much for reading

Oh, yeah, there’s the outro thing.

Follow, like, and show support. It means a lot.

I'd love to hear your thoughts ~
